Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
EMA pays up to £30 per week to all 16 year olds who are at school or college. There are also bonuses of £100 if you remain on your course and make good progress with your learning. You can get an EMA if:
- You are aged 16 years old.
- Your household income is £30,000 or below.
- You are on further education courses (such as Highers, AS/A2, GNVQs, NVQs and GCSEs) in school sixth forms, sixth form colleges and FE colleges.
