Who does what?

Youth workers, Connexions Personal Advisors and Co

Lots of people who work with young people are employed by organisations like Connexions (England only), a Youth Service or a charity. They should all be able to tell you what things they can give you advice on and what rules they follow about keeping what you say private. Counsellors are specially trained to help people who are going through any kind of distress or painful feelings. Some Counsellors work for your local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) which just helps children and young people who want to talk about their problems.

If you live in England, Connexions can help you with information and advice on learning, careers, health, relationships: www.connexions.gov.uk

Careers Scotland provides a starting point for anyone in Scotland looking for careers information, advice or guidance: www.careers-scotland.org.uk
