MS
How do people get MS?
At the moment no-one really knows the answer to that question, although there is lots of research being done to try and find out.
Scientists do think that genes play a part in it – so perhaps if a person had a certain group of genes, they might develop MS (but that doesn’t mean they definitely would). Although there may be a link with genes, there is no evidence that the child of someone with MS will go on to develop it themselves.
It’s also more common in some colder countries like Britain, and it may be that other illnesses can trigger MS in some people. As we said, there are lots of possibilities and researchers are working hard to try to find the causes of MS.
