Cerebral Palsy
What is Cerebral Palsy?
Firstly it’s not one particular disease or condition. It means the brain has been damaged ( often before or during birth ) and this damage affects the parts of it which controls muscles in our bodies. Some people have fairly mild cerebral palsy and lead relatively normal lives, others are more severely affected and need lots of support and help. Although it mainly affects people physically it can also affect other brain functions such as the ability to learn things and communicate.
