    Sad [:(] Mum

My mum has M.S. and cannot walk by herself or use her arms properly. Every now and again she falls and i have to pick her up. Due to that i have been hurting my back because she is over 9stone & taking time off skool. Does any one know how to tackle this problem? I have tryed to do it properly etc but it doesnt work!

    Re: Mum

Ok the first thing that i have to suggest is to

    • go on a manual handling course, so that u get tort how to lift your mum correctly.
    • Speak to your doctor to get some pain relif and to make sure your not damaging ur back
    • Do u have any1 else to help u bro's sis's dad ect. if so tell them about your pain and see if they can help you lift her.
    • Make sure your school know of your situation, and if you are needin a while off school get work off them cuz you dont wanna fall behind
    • Is there a nurse that comes and visits your mum that you could talk to about maybe getting some lifting equimpent so that you dont damage your self.

    How old are you?

    I hope this helps you,

    WB love Kiwi

    Re: Mum

wow no wonder your back hurts! i find my baby bro heavy enough! u probs already know but try and bend your knees when you pick her up, try not to lean forwards.

(at least that is what it saidon a poster at da docs- it was about old people lifting up suitcases lol!)

it mayhelp your back - but she might be too heavy for that?
