    Hello Sian

Ok so you got your A levels now there are 2 routes you can go down....one is to get a job at a reputable company like Selfridges or Debenhams or Next in their personal styling/personal shopping department...this way you get hands on experience of dressing real people with real bodies and real body issues.....its all very well dressing a size 0 model but wait till you have to dress a size 16 lady who has 3 kids a dog and a busy lifestyle running from the school run to work to lunch and all the things you have to take into account...anyway if you work in a place like that you will meet people who will tell others about you....its a business that is based on word of mouth.......

or you can go and do a fashion course...either a whopping one like the ones they do at London College of fashion for 3 years or any of the shorter courses that they do...if you dont want to come to london or are unable to then many local college do do a fashion course but instead of doing a full of fashion design course you want to do one that incorporates creativity with business skills too....

oh i just thought of a 3rd way which is more the route i took .....apply to work on a long running soap or drama in TV.....like Emmerdale or Eastenders or the Bill...that way you learn about dressing people even though the decision making will be taken by someone else and that way you are working with the celebs and once they know what you are talking about fashion wise you could offer them styling advice and then eventually become their personal stylists

one thing i have to say is that you must get thick skinned ..its a dog eat dog world the fashion world!!

Re: Celebrity Fashion Stylist at your service!

    Hey thanks Helen

I love beat the stylist too but my goodness its tough doing it every single week!!!

Right pear shaped is the BEST shape to be...what you have to do is celebrate your curves instead of trying to hide them as we sometimes make them look worse

rules.....dont wear narrow leg trousers...wear wide leg or boot cut.....tucking jeans into boots sometimes makes hips look wider and as you say you are a pear shaped so if you tuck narrow jeans into boots you are creating a more prominent hip and bum shape....its all about proportion.....I'm not saying you cant do it you just have to work out whats best for you...what we need to do is create an hour glass shape so we need to accentuate the top both shoulders and booby area so geometric prints bright colours wide necks then we need to show off the waist....belts are being worn ON the waists now and not slung over the hips....dark colous on the bottom half of your body...and dark boots Ugg or otherwise.....if you wear light boots with jeans they cut off your leg length and make your legs look shorter and you hips wider

get yourself down to New Look or Primark

wear lots of sparkle this season too and not just for night time day time sparkle is good

and also to keep the top looking focussed get one of those big square patterned scarves and tie it a la D and G you will look the business

go on girl you can do it......dont hide it flaunt it!!!

i forgot to add ....fern wears a lot of bias cut dresses...that is where the fabric has been cut on the diaganol....which means rather than clinging to her body it skims but then flares out at the hem....

Re: Celebrity Fashion Stylist at your service!

Sarah who says you cant look good when dressing from Primark and Asda???? I also swear by New Look, Matalan, Select and Bay Trading.

its all baout the way you put things together...look at the mags and see how the celebs mix and match stuff.....this season its all to do with patents......you can get fab designeresque shoes at new look and matalan for as little as £6 right now and the most fab black patent bags

dress up a dull jeans and T shirt with a sparkly belt ot lots of indian bangles or a well tied wrap scarf......remember be individual too...wear coloured tights or leg warmers with both high and low shoes......just keep checking out what the celebs are doign.....

Re: Celebrity Fashion Stylist at your service!

    well stu

sadly i am too old and too boring to know who they are but the key to dressing like them is to tone it down slightly...remember what you see them wearing are their stage costumes so everything is heightened .......but you can look like your fave celebs.....just have a bit of gumption....sadly there are fewer cheaper outlets for boys than there are for girls,.....Primark is brilliant for on trend pieces for girlks but sadly lacking for men and boys.......you need to go to places like blue inc or some of the other high street discounred stores....
