    put ay poems here!

i was thinking the discussion about poems inspired me so maby we could wright some of our own!!! heres some of mine

    MUM

When mum got arthritis it was over a year ago

But to see her walk the pain she’s been thru would never know.

Lying there in her bed, she’s as cold as ice can be

She needs help walking to the loo, and she cannot make her own tea.

Its not funny when she screams in pain at 5oclock in the morning

She’s go the most dreadful cramp, and it comes without a warning.

Again she’s up and about, riding along on her scooter

Going places here and there, and wherever it dose suit her.

Then all of a sudden she’s got it again, the arthritis hits

And her energy it will quit.

So here we are again, were back to square one

The pain-free time it came, and now it seems to have gone

But hey think of that saying this two will pass

Coz for a while she will be out and about again and will be a happy lass

    The magic set

Me and my sister are beat friends,

And we have a magic set

And at making ourselves appear and disappear

    We rely are the best

We have a magic box and a magic wand that folds

We get the table, box ,and sofa all in a row

We hake sure there’s no holes for people to see then were ready to go

We have made a secret whole In the box where we can get out of it

And what’s cool is its at the back and no one knows about it

I tap the wand on the table 1,2,3

My sister then crawls out of the box

    And hides behind the settee

One day my sister said to me

Little sister I do feel that if I give you £5

I can make my self disappear for real

    £5!!!!! I said YOU HAVE A DEAL!!!!!!

You have probably guessed my sister is a child

Who is of cores extremely wild.

She grabbed the wand and clenched her fits

    HALT!!!! I said IT’S A BIT OF A RISK!!!!!

My sister looked at me and said o little sis

    It cant be that bad

    She tapped the want 1,2,3

And disappeared rite in front of me!!!!!

And as the wand hit the ground

I realised she dint give me MY £5

To this day she has not come back

And for letting her do it I dint half get a smack

So I am telling you now, so you have been told

    Especially when there’s money involved

    Do not trust older sister

Cause they are all money snitchers

    weeing

a wee, a wee, i need one now

got 2 go, got 2 go,

    see you soon chaw

    run,run asfast as i can

and who shuld be in there, but my mam

hurry up mam quick quick quick

    time is ticking, tic, toc,tic

she comes out & i jump in

i lock the door so no 1 can walk in

a wee is all i want nothing more

and i have 2 admit it was nearly a puddle on the floor

so her i am sat upon the seat

ah imin heavan, such bladdar reliefe!

hi here is my poem STAR

twirling and twinkling in the sky

a big bright star catches my eye

i was tired, so tired so i said goodbye

when i looked back i started to cry

the star that i met was gone, had it flied?

that very night i took another look and i said hi

up in the dark so verry high

my little star had come back, OH MY!

    HOPE YOU LIKED IT!

    Re: put ay poems here!

Hi! This is my poem -

    NEVER ALONE

Sometimes it feels like you’re falling apart,

    And sometimes everything goes right,

Some worries and problems are easy to beat,

And some keep you up all night.

Sometimes life can just get on top of you,

Sometimes you’re up there on top,

Sometimes you’re sailing straight through life,

And other times things make you stop.

Maybe you care for a sibling or parent,

Maybe you care for the two,

You’re never alone, there’s a load of us here,

And we’ll always be right here for you.

    Re: put ay poems here!

WOW gr8 poems!!! there fab!!! keep up the good work!!!

     heres some more of mine!!!

    how to catch a haggis

a haggis is a cross between a fox and a hound
and if you ever go there
youll find its a traditonal meal in scotland.

if you ever catch one its not as easy as they say
    ok your looking rather puzzled
    just let me explaine.

so you need to be in scotland
thats the only place youll find it
believe me to do this you need a lot of guts & wit
coz if you dont then half way through youll probably quit.

your now in scotland and down comes the snow
so the first thing you will need
is some warm boots and clothes.

    now your fully clothed
    this next bit aint fun
because your gonna need a knife
    and a rather large gun.

the gun you have probably guessed
is to shoot the poor thing,
but what joy to this experience,
is the knife going to bring?

well it wont bring you joy
    itll probably bring you pain
but dont worrie its only once
you wont have to use it again.

your looking a bit worried at what this knife is all about
so chill, sit down and brace yourself
this will probably make you shout.

    you have probably been told,
and believe me its not a lie,
    the haggises leg are shorter
    on its left leg side.

many wonder why this has to be,
well hes running round a moutian
(wich is hard to do, believe you,me)

so the reason for the leg thing thing is obviously
when hes running away from hunters
    he can very easily flee.

now the knife comes in, sorry to break the news
but to catch the haggis, a leg youll have to loose.
now relax and please dont stress about it
just sit down and think about it.

this creatures legs are short, so he can run fast round the mountain.
then surely you only need half a leg,so you can run just as fast as he can

your now ready to chase itso you can have it for your tea,
ha that sounds interesting, this iv got to see,
all over the mountains youll chase it, including ben nevis,
but youl have to be alert because it hides in every crevis.

and if you catch it for supper
as you will soon find out
that if you pull its tail, its eyes will pop out!!

    Re: put ay poems here!

    Here's another Young Carers one.

    Us

Life’s so hard, being a young carer,

The emotional stress and the strain,

But it’s never just “me” and it’s never just “you”,

We won’t leave you stuck in the rain.

By “we” I mean other young carers,

Yes, there are more of us ‘round.

We’ll stop you from losing your footing,

And keep you right here on the ground.

Us is such a nice word to use,

    We’re a family, a group, a team,

And once you’ve tried being a young carer,

You’ll know what those words really mean.

    Re: put ay poems here!

Wow, we're really impressed with all these!

Just thought we'd share another one with you, that somebody sent to us today:

    --------------------------------------------

    Behind the Mist

Now some days your life seems a pile of gloom
When it’s dark and your heart is not singing its tune
When the flowers are black and the air is like lead
And you’d much rather spend the next two years in bed.

But something that you need to keep in your mind
Is the world can be cruel but can also be kind
And the mist that is there at the start of the day
By the heat of the sun can be soon put away.

So be like the sun as it shines every day
Even if there are dark clouds in the way
If you rise and you smile and you hold your head high
You will help both yourself and those others who cry.

    The Music Of Life

    A simple melody,

    A pretty song,

    A helpful hand

    That comes along

    A rocking sound,

    A heavy tune,

    Someone’s fun,

    To lift the gloom.

    A bit of pop,

    Some bubblegum,

    A friend so fun,

    There’s never gloom

    A lovely ballad,

    Of love and life,

    A friend who clears,

    Away the strife

    Every person,

    Has a song,

    A song that plays

    When they come along

    Keep their song,

    Don’t let it go,

    You’ll hear that song,

    When you need them so,

    And sometimes,

    You’ll be needed too,

So when your song is playing,

    Someone’s thinking of you.

    Re: put ay poems here!

    a smile

    Although it lasts a moment,

It stays with you for life!

It can definitely help you through,

all of your pain and strife!

It is something that is free,

That you feel good when you give away!

To a friend, or to a stranger

Whether it be night or day!

Its pleasant, its nice, its happy,

It makes others feel warm inside

And when you smile at someone,

    You feel extremely kind!

So go on smile at someone,

Whether they be sad, or full of cheer

And believe me when you do this,

    It brightens up their year!

    Re: put ay poems here!

ok i found this poem on the internet, im not quite sure who wrote itTongue Tied but ill just let u know that its not one of mine!

Jenny was so happy about the house they had found.

For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town.

She unpacked her things with such great ease.

As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze.

How wonderful it was to have her own room.

School would be starting; she'd have friends over soon.

There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy,

It's just the way she wanted her life to be.

On the first day of school, everything went great. S

he made new friends and even got a date!

She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be,

Because I just got a date with the star of the team!"

To be known in this school you had to have clout,

And dating this guy would sure help her out.

There was only one problem stopping her fate.

Her parents had said she was too young to date.

"Well I just won't tell them the entire truth.

They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?"

Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night.

Her parents frowned but said, "All right."

Excited, she got ready for the big event

But as she rushed around like she had no sense,

She began to feel guilty about all the lies,

But what's a pizza, a party, and a moonlight ride?

Well the pizza was good, and the party was great,

But the moonlight ride would have to wait.

For Dan was half drunk by this time.

But he kissed her and said that he was just fine.

Then the room filled with smoked and Dan took a puff.

Jenny couldn't believe he was smoking that stuff.

Now Dan was ready to ride to the point

But only after he'd smoked another joint.

They jumped in the car for the moonlight ride,

Not thinking that he was too drunk to drive.

They finally made it to the point at last,

And Dan started trying to make a pass.

A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all

(and by a pass, I don't mean playing football.)

"Perhaps my parents were right....maybe I am too young.

Boy, how could I ever, ever be so dumb."

With all of her might, she pushed Dan away: "

Please take me home, I don't want to stay."

Dan cranked up the engine and floored the gas.

In a matter of seconds they were going too fast.

As Dan drove on in a fit of wild anger,

Jenny knew that her life was in danger.

She begged and pleaded for him to slow down,

But he just got faster as they neared the town.

"Just let me get home! I'll confess that I lied.

I really went out for a moonlight ride."

Then all of a sudden, she saw a big flash.

"Oh God, Please help us! We're going to crash!"

She doesn't remember the force of impact.

Just that everything all of a sudden went black.

She felt someone remove her from the twisted rubble,

And heard, "call an ambulance! These kids are in trouble!

Voices she heard...a few words at best.

But she knew there were two cars involved in the wreck.

Then wondered to herself if Dan was all right,

And if the people in the other car was alive.

She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad.

"You've been in a wreck and it looks pretty bad."

These voices echoed inside her head,

As they gently told her that Dan was dead.

They said "Jenny, we've done all we can do.

But it looks as if we'll lose you too."

"But the people in the other car!?" Jenny cried.

We're sorry, Jenny, they also died."

Jenny prayed, "God, forgive me for what I've done

I only wanted to have just one night of fun."

"Tell those people's family, I've made their lives dim,

And wish I could return their families to them."

"Tell Mom and Dad I'm sorry I lied,

And that it's my fault so many have died.

Oh, nurse, won't you please tell them that for me?"

The nurse just stood there-she never agreed.

But took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes.

And a few moments later Jenny died.

A man asked the nurse, "Why didn't you do your best

To bid that girl her one last request?"

She looked at the man with eyes so sad.

"Because the people in the other car were her mom and dad."

This story is sad and unpleasant but true,

So young people take heed, it could have been you.

i think its an ok 1 to put on young cares, but if its got anything offencive im sure theyll takeit off!Smile

    Re: put ay poems here!

thought id do another poem to! this one is by roald dahl! its called television, lol! it just made me giggle!

The most important thing we've learned,
So far as children are concerned,
    Is never, NEVER, NEVER let
Them near your television set --
Or better still, just don't install
    The idiotic thing at all.
In almost every house we've been,
We've watched them gaping at the screen.
They loll and slop and lounge about,
And stare until their eyes pop out.
(Last week in someone's place we saw
A dozen eyeballs on the floor.)
They sit and stare and stare and sit
    Until they're hypnotised by it,
    Until they're absolutely drunk
With all that shocking ghastly junk.

Oh yes, we know it keeps them still,
They don't climb out the window sill,
They never fight or kick or punch,
They leave you free to cook the lunch
And wash the dishes in the sink --
But did you ever stop to think,
    To wonder just exactly what
This does to your beloved tot?

IT ROTS THE SENSE IN THE HEAD!
    IT KILLS IMAGINATION DEAD!
IT CLOGS AND CLUTTERS UP THE MIND!
IT MAKES A CHILD SO DULL AND BLIND
    HE CAN NO LONGER UNDERSTAND
    A FANTASY, A FAIRYLAND!
HIS BRAIN BECOMES AS SOFT AS CHEESE!
HIS POWERS OF THINKING RUST AND FREEZE!
HE CANNOT THINK -- HE ONLY SEES!

'All right!' you'll cry. 'All right!' you'll say,
'But if we take the set away,
What shall we do to entertain
    Our darling children? Please explain!'
We'll answer this by asking you,
'What used the darling ones to do?
'How used they keep themselves contented
    Before this monster was invented?'
Have you forgotten? Don't you know?
We'll say it very loud and slow:
THEY ... USED ... TO ... READ! They'd READ and READ,
AND READ and READ, and then proceed
To READ some more. Great Scott! Gadzooks!
One half their lives was reading books!
The nursery shelves held books galore!
Books cluttered up the nursery floor!
And in the bedroom, by the bed,
More books were waiting to be read!
    Such wondrous, fine, fantastic tales
Of dragons, gypsies, queens, and whales
And treasure isles, and distant shores
Where smugglers rowed with muffled oars,
    And pirates wearing purple pants,
    And sailing ships and elephants,
And cannibals crouching 'round the pot,
    Stirring away at something hot.
(It smells so good, what can it be?
    Good gracious, it's Penelope.)
The younger ones had Beatrix Potter
With Mr. Tod, the dirty rotter,
    And Squirrel Nutkin, Pigling Bland,
    And Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle and-
Just How The Camel Got His Hump,
And How the Monkey Lost His Rump,
And Mr. Toad, and bless my soul,
There's Mr. Rate and Mr. Mole-
Oh, books, what books they used to know,
    Those children living long ago!
So please, oh please, we beg, we pray,
Go throw your TV set away,
And in its place you can install
A lovely bookshelf on the wall.
Then fill the shelves with lots of books,
    Ignoring all the dirty looks,
The screams and yells, the bites and kicks,
And children hitting you with sticks-
Fear not, because we promise you
That, in about a week or two
Of having nothing else to do,
They'll now begin to feel the need
    Of having something to read.
And once they start -- oh boy, oh boy!
You watch the slowly growing joy
That fills their hearts. They'll grow so keen
They'll wonder what they'd ever seen
    In that ridiculous machine,
    That nauseating, foul, unclean,
    Repulsive television screen!
And later, each and every kid
Will love you more for what you did.
