This is my first blog and I chose to write it about life in general and how things can effect it.
We are young carers. We are on this site because we care for someone in our family who is ill or disabled or whatever and this is very hard for all of us. our lives can be hard and we are often restricted about what we can do because of being a young carer whereas other people can do more, be it from going on holidays or going out with friends, being a young carer can take a lot of time and effort.
I wrote in the paragraph how hard it can be to be a young carer but I think, rather than saying: I am a young carer, I cant do well in exams or I am a young carer I cant be successful, treat being a young carer as a challenge. Try to beat it because if you do, you will feel very satisfied. I want to become a doctor for two reasons, firstly because I want to help people, secondly because I moved down in science and people tell me I wont be able to become a doctor because I am doing Double Science GCSE. I really want to become a doctor and you have to be good at science but I am not going to let being moved down stop me, I am going to treat it as a challenge. If you are going somewhere and a road is closed, try using a different road, do not turn back. Being a young carer means it is harder to do things, it does not mean it is impossible. If you put your mind to it y ou can do anything and you will feel pride. you can say: I did this and I am a young carer, I care and on top of that I mangaged to do this.
If you have exams coming up, which some of you do, rather than saying I wont bother revising, I wont do well, revise extra hard because you can do it, anyone can.
Being a young carer is a challenge, not an obstacle
You can do anything!
