I get bullied

What do young carers that have been bullied say?

  • Don’t try and change the way you are, it’s other people that have the problem.
  • Keep a diary of all the things that happen to you. If you ask someone for help, show them the diary.
  • Get involved in activities and clubs outside of school where you can make new friends and try something new. You might experience less tension and stress this way.
  • Try and avoid being on your own or in places that you know are not safe. You might need to change your route to and from school.
  • Remember to talk to someone you can trust about what’s going on. They might be a teacher, parent, relative, guardian, young carer worker or a good friend!
  • Look out for one another and respect each other. People have different interests and come from different backgrounds. We don’t all share the same taste in music, clothes, food, people or hobbies.
